David B. Weintraub, MD, is the director of functional neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital. He specializes in deep brain stimulation surgery for movement disorders and provides surgical care for pain disorders, including trigeminal neuralgia and neck, back and leg pain associated with degenerative spine disease. His additional areas of specialty include spinal cord stimulation surgery for chronic pain associated with failed back surgery, and surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the brain, pituitary gland and spine.In addition to his clinical knowledge and technical expertise, patients appreciate Dr. Weintraub s thoughtfulness and conservative approach to surgery, as he makes every effort to employ all nonoperative measures first.
